appero quote Setup-Assistant
Introduction
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get started with appero quote. Therefore, the Setup Assistant will guide you through the most important setup steps when you install our package for the first time.
You will find it on the start page of the appero quote setup app after assigning the number systematics:
The progress bar shows you at a glance how far your appero quote configuration has progressed:
Click on "View Tasks" to follow the individual setup steps.
The individual setup steps in detail
1. Choose Quote Prefix and Quote Number
You have already taken the first step: assigning a numbering system for your quotes, consisting of a quote prefix and the start number.
Therefore, this step is already marked as "Complete".
2. Create Product Groups
Product Groups are a central item in appero quote - both in terms of product configuration and in terms of the presentation and calculation of your quote. You should therefore think about the product groups that match your product catalog in good time.
The "Create Product Groups" button opens the list view for product groups in a new tab. Once you have created the first product group, the status of the 2nd setup step changes to "Complete".
3. Create your first Template
With products, price book entries and the associated product groups, you are ideally equipped for your first quote in appero quote. All you need now is a quote template that represents your data in an appealing form. The quickest way to do this is with the Template Wizard.
The "Template Wizard" button opens this in a pop-up window.
Once you have created your first template, the status of the 3rd setup step changes to "Complete".
4. Update Opportunity Layouts
appero quote fits seamlessly into the Opportunity process. Therefore, add the "New Quote" button and the related lists for quotes in the Opportunity Layouts you use.
Clicking on "Update Layouts" opens a list view of the existing Opportunity Page Layouts:
From the list on the left, select those layouts that should be added and move them to the right tab. Click on "Update Layouts" to add the "New Quote" action and the "Quotes" related lists to the selected page layouts.
Once the customization of the page layouts is complete, the status of the 4th setup step will change to "Complete". This may take a little time to complete. You can already proceed to the 5th setup step and will receive a success message after a successful update:
Alternatively, you can of course assign the QFX Opportunity Layout page layout included in appero quote in the setup, which is already optimized for use with appero quote.
5. Assign Licences to Users
Each user who should have access to appero quote needs a separate license. The 5th step leads you to the setup, where you can manage the licenses at the installed package.
As soon as at least one license is assigned, the status of the 5th setup step changes to "Complete".
6. Assign Permissions to Users
In addition to licenses, each user needs the appropriate permissions to access quotes and related data.
In the final step of the setup, you will be directed to the "appero quote User" permission set in the setup, where you can manage the assignments.
Please remember to also assign the "appero quote Lightning User" permission to access the quote editor. Administrators of the application are assigned the permission set "appero quote Admin". More about this in the chapter Permissions.
Automatic progress check
The query of the individual steps takes place every second. If an adjustment ever takes longer, such as adjusting the Opportunity layout, or generally if you work with the wizard for longer than 5 minutes, then you can also query the current deployment status manually via the header:
Completion of the Setup Assistant
After you complete all the steps and the progress bar reaches 100%, you will receive a success message with an option to remove the Assistant from the Lightning Page Layout.
The display of the Assistant in the background is controlled by the setup text hideSetupAssistant
, which changes to the value "true" when the Assistant is hidden. In addition, the setup text hideSetupAssistantCompletedToast
is also set to true after the first display.
If necessary, you can also show the Assistant again via the settings by resetting the Parameter to “false”.
