Individual Configuration of Quote Items
Introduction
The badges on the right margin of the document provide information about the type of the respective quote item. This allows a quick orientation about the quote and calculation structure.
For better user guidance, you have the option in your quote template to overwrite badges individually or to add a comment to quote items.
The function is hidden behind the hammer icon in the vertical toolbar on the side: "Edit additional information for selected items".
The Hammer icon is displayed only in template editor with appero quote Admin permission, not in normal quoting process.
Custom Badges
Select the desired quote item and activate the hammer icon. The detail dialog for configuring the quote item opens:
Badge details
In the first section you can specify the badge name and color scheme.
Display | Function | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Badge Label | Enter the name to be displayed in the badge in the editor. | |
Badge Color (via Color Picker) | Select the desired color tone from the Color Picker or by directly entering Hex or RGB code. | |
Text Color (via Color Picker) | Choose the font color to match your background color (readability). | |
Reset-Button | Clicking the Reset button resets the configuration of all three fields. |
We recommend keeping the labels as short as possible so that the content can be grasped at a glance. For more detailed information, you can use the Badge Help Text or the Comment field.
Badge Help Text
Similar to the Help Texts on Salesforce fields, you can also assign explanatory text to your badge, which will be displayed when hovering over the "i" icon.
You make the configuration in the second section "Badge Help Text".
Display | Function | Explanation |
---|---|---|
Badge help text | A text area editor is available for entering the help text. | |
Reset-Button | Clicking the reset button deletes the existing help text. |
Comments
As an alternative to the badge, you can also write a comment directly under the selected quote item. You can find the configuration for this in the third section of the dialog:
Display | Function | Explanation |
---|---|---|
The type sets the background color of the comment | The following are available for selection Information - gray | |
Input of the comment to be displayed | A rich text editor is available for entering the comment. | |
Reset-Button | Clicking the reset button deletes the comma type and text. |
Style
Another function, which is only visible in the PDF, is the assignment of CSS classes directly in the editor.
In the Style section, enter the class name for the item as you defined it in your custom CSS.
You need custom class names only if your formatting goes beyond that of the standard items, for example, if you want to distinguish other text areas in the formatting in addition to normal text elements and the three heading types.
When editing via the hammer icon, please note that after closing the modal the selection is not yet cancelled. To do this, click on the display of the number of selected items at the top of the editing toolbar - "Deselects all selected line items." - or deselect the finished items manually:
