Creating an Opportunity
The management of quotes is carried out completely via the opportunity object in accordance with the Salesforce standard. Quotes are created based on an opportunity and are dependent on it. Several quotes can be created for each opportunity - for example, to map different quotes variants. However, only one quote can be accepted.
A new opportunity can be created within the "Opportunities" tab. User-defined fields on the opportunity can be read automatically at runtime in the quote editor using variables.
After installing appero quote, the "Quote" related list, through which quotes can be managed and tracked, must be displayed below the opportunity layout:
Assign the correct price book to the opportunity or select the price book before creating a new quote.
The quote process with appero quote integrates seamlessly with the Salesforce opportunity process - from opportunity creation to negotiation to winning the deal. Therefore, by default, quotes can only be created from open opportunities. If it is necessary in your sales process to create new quotes from closed opportunities as well, you can set an appropriate parameter for this purpose. To do this, you or your administrator create a setup text of type Parameter with the name allowQuotesForClosedOpp
and enter the value true.
