Ad Positions

Introduction

Ad positions determine the concrete positioning of an advertising space within a publication. In a magazine, this would be, for example, the back cover page U4 or a page in the inner section, in a website, for example, the Superbanner on the start page or a skyscraper on the left margin.

Each of these ad positions has a certain dimension, which you define using the "Ad format" object.

Difference between ad position and ad format

Ad formats define the technical dimensions of an ad ad position, but say nothing about the concrete positioning within the publication. The positioning is only set when an ad format is assigned to an ad position. This concrete definition also serves as the basis for determining later how often which advertising space can be sold.

Optional

Ad ratio defines the ad ratio of an ad position as a simple number. Example: A 1/1 page has an ad ratio of 1, a 1/2 page has an ad ratio of 0.5.

This so-called "statistical" value helps with evaluation questions, e.g. as the total number of pages booked vis-à-vis the customer or, for example, as the total sum per issue to determine the relationship between ads and editorial content.

Mandatory field

Ad positions always require an assignment to a publication. This is particularly necessary for the availability check in the quotation process:

The "is digital" checkbox on the publication indicates whether the ad position can be booked for a specific time (fixed edition) or a flexible period (date entry for start and end time of the reservation).

In addition, the publication group to which a publication can be assigned can be accessed.
