Introduction: Template Administration

​SendHero42 admin area offers you the possibility to manage your templates, create new templates and update the content blocks from the Marketing Cloud on a single page. Besides that, you will have access to the user administration.

 

 

In the upper area of ​​the page you will find an overview of all templates with various editing options that you can access using the small triangle on the right.

 

 

 

 

Show Properties

The properties of a template include the default subject line, but also tracking and style information from the Marketing Cloud:

The template ID is generated automatically and cannot be changed.

Define the template name under which the user can find the template.

Define a subject title. The user can overwrite this later.

Choose a preheader title for your template. This field is not mandatory. The user can overwrite this later.

 

Choose the template you want to use.

You will find the templates in the SFMC Email Studio: Content Builder / SendHero42/Templates

Only templates from the Marketing Cloud are recognized as templates in SendHero42 whose name contains the character string 'Template'. The block type does not matter at this point.

At this point you can store a uniform tracking pixel for your template, e.g. for Google Analytics.

The tracking code in SendHero42 does not depend on the SFMC tracking settings.

You can define detailed tracking in the Marketing Cloud here in the Settings parameter.

 

The live dispatch external key contains all dispatch parameters including the recipient list.

The shipping key is validated when it is saved so that incorrect entries are intercepted.

The Parameter is defined in the Email-Studio.

Assign a folder form SFMC to your template, to import images.

The folder ID will not be validated while saving. Please make sure to put a correct input.

Leave the editing mode.

 

 

Save your changes.

 

Structure Editing

The structure of a template consists of various content blocks that you previously created in the Marketing Cloud.

 

You can add new content blocks and define the editing operations for users.

With this option you either allow or deactivate your users to change the sequence of the individual content blocks of a newsletter.

As an administrator you can drag and drop the content blocks and place them to your desired location.

 

 

 

 

For each content block, you have the option of further editing or removing it from the template. With "Copy Block" you can create a copy of the selected block directly in the template.

 

Add a new content block to your template.

Settings for Elements of the type Header, Pre-Header, Footer

Structural elements such as headers and footers only require a few configuration steps. That means the user only can make a few possible operations. This makes sure that the newsletter will be sent CI compliant.

Choose a meaningful name that reflects the content of your block.

By using the drop down you can see all content blocks provided by the Marketing Cloud.

Determine whether your users can show or hide the block in the newsletter themselves and whether it should be hidden or shown in the beginning.

Settings for Text Elements

You can enter text in text elements. It is recommended to pre-assign these fields with a standard text in the template, which your users only need to adjust slightly.

Insert the newsletter content into the given text field.

Activate the Rich-Text-Editor if your users should be able to edit the text and the formatting of the the block.

At this point you determine whether the pre-assigned content may be overwritten for each newsletter.

If this checkbox is activated, the block can be copied as often as required in the newsletter.

Settings for Images

Store images from the content library of your Marketing Cloud in image elements or banners.

Image Source in SFMC

Find the image folder here: Der Content Builder / SendHero42.

 

 

If changes to the block are allowed at all, you can specify whether the image itself can be exchanged.

-

 

 

If the picture can be changed, you can further limit whether the user can swap it for a picture from their own desktop or from the associated Marketing Cloud folder.

When uploading from the Marketing Cloud, only the image folder assigned to the template is displayed.

 

You can activate access to the RSS feed - alternatively or in additionally. Enter the link to the RSS feed in the associated field.

You can exchange the image in the block with one of the three options on the left.

-

 

This field is mandatory for the banner. It is recommended to allow the user to edit the alt-text if he is allowed to edit the image.

Link the image with the desired Landingpage. If the user is allowed to change the image, it is recommended to also allow adjusting the link.

Settings for Buttons

Buttons are Call-to-Actions of your Newsletters. They connect the newsletter content with extern pages such as a Landingpage.

Set the text of your button and decide if it should be editable by the CKE Editor.

The button URL contains the redirection to the landing page of the button.

Settings for Product Elements

Map the product data from SFMC in SendHero42:

Enter the desired product list from which the user can change products.

The table name corresponds to the Data Extension in the Marketing Cloud, which contains the associated product data.

 

With the Default ID you assign a first product to your product element so that the user can recognize the structure of the element.

If he is allowed to edit the block, he can use the ID to exchange the product for another from the same table.

Pure product data such as product name, article number and price is automatically written into the content block via the article ID.

In the "Products Mapping" list, you specify which field from the Data Extension operates as the ID using the Primary Key identifier.

Settings for Blog Elements

Content blocks of the blog type are used to integrate RSS feeds into the newsletter content.

The saved URL is linked to the XML file of the blog.

Please enter RSS as a field type.

-

 

Define the maximum number of entries to be displayed. Alternatively, it can also be limited to a certain period of time.

 

 

 

Determine how many entries are already displayed.

 

 

You can show another content block, e.g. an advertising banner, within your RSS feed.

 

Removing a Template

Cannot be removed if newsletter is deleted first.

Coping a Template

Select "Copy Template" to make a copy. You can then adjust the properties of the copy as described above. Assign a meaningful name. To address a different recipient group, select a different Live-Delivery Externalkey. You can adjust the properties later aswell.

 

 

The Copy will be displayed in the list of templates after clicking “Save”:

Create a new template according to the criteria mentioned above.

At this point you can synchronize the content blocks in the Marketing Cloud with the content and templates in SendHero42.
