Introduction

As soon as you initiate a test or live dispatch in SendHero42, the newsletter dispatch is triggered in the Marketing Cloud. Dispatch Settings are in the Email Studio in Interactions.

There is a difference between Test dispatch and Live dispatch. The Test Dispatch triggers a Triggered Send and the Live Dispatch triggers a User Initiated Mail.

Test Dispatch - Triggered Send

The folder Triggered Send folder contains all dispatch information relating to internal messages such as test newsletters and User related messages:

Name of Triggered Send.

Recommendation: the name should correspond to the corresponding e-mail in the test dispatch folder.

The External Key identifies the message in the Api. It should be a unique identificator.

Internal description to point out the content and purpose of the email.

The Configuration of the dispatch classification for SendHero42 contains with the sender and recipient profile.

In the area Content Builder Emails the the associated email from the test dispatch folder can be linked.

 

Subject and preview lines will be clarified via variables.

The recipients will be established in the area Subscriber Management via Data Extension.

Suppression List und Exclusion Management are not necessary for test dispatch.

The detailed shipping information is created in the project setup. It is stored in the Config Vars of the SendHero 42 Heroku App. Furthermore, there is a subfolder “SendHero42” that should not be deleted as it contains the latest messages.

Live Dispatch - User Initiated Email

After testing in SendHero42, the live dispatch can be triggered in the Marketing Cloud. Find the dispatch settings here: Interactions /User Initiated Email/SendHero42.

 

User Initiated Mail associates a SendHero42 template with a subscriber group and the related shipping settings.

Watch Out:

  • Several templates in SendHero42 can use the same User Initiated Email in the Marketing Cloud if they use the same Send Classification such as the same Subscriber List.

  • One SendHero42 template can only use one User Initiated Emails as it is associated with a fix Send Classification and a fix Subscriber List

The Name of User Initiated Email is important for tracking.

External Key is a unique identifier that is also saved in the SendHero42 template.

Linking an already existing email is necessary.

Every Template in SendHero42 contains the External Key of an User Inititated Email. Since linking an existing email is necessary, a default email will be implemented first. Please find it here: Content Builder / Live Dispatch / Content.

 

 

Subject and Preheader will be saved in variables.

Please choose a Send Classification. This contains sender, subscriber, dispatch priorities and either “commercial” or “transactional email”.

Recipient list can be stored within a Data Extension.

Tracking settings need to be configured. This can be observed in the Tracking area inside the Email Studio.
