Collaboration in the quoting process

Chatter is Salesforce's collaboration medium. Users can collaborate on sales opportunities, customer service cases, campaigns, and projects using Chatter. Of course, you can also include Chatter on the Lightning page of the quote record.

Possible use cases for collaborating in the quoting process using Chatter include the following

  • Chatter as an informal and more flexible precursor to the approval process

  • Communication on the data set

  • Obtaining feedback from supervisors

  • Reducing email volume, etc.

First, you need to enable/configure Chatter for your company in Salesforce Setup under "Chatter Settings". For more details, please refer to the relevant Salesforce help pages.
