Important information when updating from appero quote 22.201.7 or older to this version
Please contact your product support before installation if you use products with editable list price or with product property type Price Calculation in your quotes. The update requires minor adjustments to your data, with which we will be happy to assist you.
Product Properties
Bulk Price Wizard
With appero quote, you have the option of displaying bulk prices, i.e. product prices depending on the quantities offered. You create a product property of the type Bulk Price for each product bulk.
Changes in appero quote 23.200: With the Bulk Price Wizard, you can easily create or edit multiple bulk price rules at once. You can find the wizard right on the start page of the appero quote Setup app .
Action required: Nothing. If the Bulk Price Wizard does not appear on your homepage, simply add it via the Lightning Page layout.

Simplified settings for the approval process
You can configure the approval process for a quote entirely in the standard Salesforce setup. However, to ensure that the processing options via the quote action buttons, the status display and, if applicable, lower price limits are displayed correctly, some settings are required in the appero quote setup.
We have now fundamentally simplified these additional settings.
Changes in appero quote 23.200:
The following settings lose their function via the new Settings > Approval > "Use Simplified Approval Logic" (setup text name UseSimplifiedApprovalLogic
):
Setting | Type | Parameter Name |
---|---|---|
Approval process activated | Option switch | approval |
Approval process options | Picklist:
| approvalmode |
Percentage value for trigger | Input field | approvalsumvalue |
If the new parameter "Use Simplified Approval Logic" is activated, the system only checks whether there is an active approval process on the Quote object in the Salesforce instance.
If so, the buttons for editing and the status display on the quote page are automatically set to the status "Approval required".
If no active approval process is found, the "Submit for approval" button is also not available and all editing options such as "Copy products to opportunity" or "Send email" can be executed directly.
Action required: As an existing customer, nothing will change for you. Of course, you have the option of activating the new logic via the new setting "Use simplified approval logic". When you install our package for the first time, this option is activated by default.
The other settings "Show approval level in editor" and "Show “draft” until approval" retain their function.

Quick configuration of Lowsellprices
Lower price limits define how much discount the employee is allowed to give on a product until a supervisor has to approve the quote. appero quote offers the possibility to consider lower price limits directly when inserting and editing the product in the quote, without the user having to keep the restrictions in mind or running the risk of selling a product below value.
Until now, this also required several settings in the setup and product properties of the Price Calculation type.
Changes in appero quote 23.200:
If the "Use simplified approval logic" parameter is activated, the previous configuration via the Price Calculation product property is ignored. Instead, you can enter the lower price limit as a discount value directly on the product in the "Discount Limit for Approval" field (sf42_quotefx__SF42_DiscountLimitForApproval__c).
The calculation of the approval level on quote items and the quote data record remains unchanged and can be used as usual as a criteria in the approval process.
Action required: As an existing customer, nothing will change for you. Of course, you have the option of activating the new logic for lower price limits via the new setting "Use simplified approval logic". However, existing rules for lowsell prices via the "Price calculation" product property will lose their function.
This option is activated by default when our package is newly installed.

New fields on the Quote record
When the quote is saved in the editor, the corresponding data record is created in Salesforce. Here you will find all the information from the individual quote line items, base data etc. clearly summarized alongside a preview of the quote PDF.
Changes in appero quote 23.200:
The two new fields "Total Discount" (sf42_quotefx__SF42_QuoTotalDiscount__c) and "Total Discount (%)" (sf42_quotefx__SF42_QuoTotalDiscountPercent__c) show the sum of the discount granted in the quote both as an amount and as a percentage.
Both fields can also be output via the two variables {TotalDiscount} and {TotalDiscountPercent} in the quote PDF. Please note that the values of these variables are only resolved in the PDF and are not visible in the editor.
Action required: None. If required, you can use the two fields in your reports, as a criterion in approval processes or as information in the quote document via the variables.

Product configuration
Third product group
The "Product groups" object is used to structure the content and calculation of quote items. While associated product properties, discount or tax rules can only refer to the primary and secondary product group, up to three groups per quote item can be used to calculate totals in the quote editor.
Changes in appero quote 23.200: The optional third product group can now also be maintained directly on the product data record. When inserting the product into the quote, it is correctly recognized and displayed. A possible use case would be to show one-off and recurring costs in the quote if the first two product groups are already used for other purposes.
This third product group is only used for calculating totals and total discounts. It has no function with regard to the positioning of a product when it is inserted into the editor and cannot be used for product properties, discount or tax rules.
Action required: If required, add the third product group to your product data and add it to the totals or total discounts in your quote templates.

More performance for the quote template selection dialog
In addition to selecting a quote template, you can also use existing quotes as templates in the "New quote" dialog box. You can find the quote you are looking for either using the filter options or via a full text search.
Changes in appero quote 23.200: With every filter or search entry, all quotes on the server are searched immediately, not just those loaded in the view. The additional "Search Salesforce" step is therefore no longer necessary.
Handlungsbedarf: Nothing.

More filter options for the Advanced Product Search
The Advanced Product Search allows you to use certain (custom) fields that you have defined in your product data record as filters for the product search.
Changes in appero quote 23.200: In addition to the field types checkbox, text field and pick list, you can now also store fields of the following types as filters:
Date
Currency
Number
To enable a meaningful search entry, the search entry is provided as a range, e.g. "from 01.01.23 to 31.01.23".
Action required: If necessary, add the API names of the new fields in Settings > Interface > "Fieldnames for product detail search".

Further optimizations and bug fixes
Concerns the use of appero quote in the Sales Console: Quote and email editor are closed correctly again after sending the quote. The quote calculation is executed correctly again when products with AddOn products are added to the opportunity first instead of in the quote editor. Bundle products are calculated correctly, even if the display option "In Editor Only" has been selected.
