Access to the editing toolbar

In the content area of the editor, numerous quote elements can be placed (e.g. text areas, products, totals or graphics). If these are selected in the quote document via the preceding checkbox, a blue toolbar with various editing options is displayed on the left side.



The functions at a glance

The following functions are provided:

Checkbox for marking a quote itemOpens the blue toolbar on the left side with the editing options.

Number of selected elementsFor a better overview, this icon shows how many selected elements the following edit refers to.

Allows you to show/hide individual cells for all selected positions.

The eye icon (one icon per cell) can be used to show or hide the desired cells.

The menu closes with a click on the x at the left corner.


By activating the leftmost column at the left corner, the position column, text areas can also be numbered. This can be useful, for example, for displaying a table of contents


Duplicates all selected positions.Duplicates the elements and places it directly below the original one.

Changes the level of the position number for all selected items.

When you click this button, all selected elements are sub-numbered or arranged one level lower (e.g. 1.1, 1.1.2). A maximum of three hierarchy levels are possible, which are defined manually.

Note: This function only affects products and text elements. All other quote elements are not taken into account.


Sets selected positions to alternative with formatting/standard.

All marked product elements are set as an alternative to a product above them. This is represented by italic font and a light green hatching in the background.

When the function is activated again, the alternative setting is cancelled (standard).

Alternative products are ignored when calculating the quote total.

Alternative products are ignored when calculating all quote totals.

Locks/unlocks all selected positions for user interactions.

(Un)lock: All selected elements are locked. Locked elements cannot be edited or deleted until the lock is released by clicking the button again.

A locked element can be recognized by the padlock in the badge on the right margin.


Note: It is recommended to lock important elements such as T&Cs in the quote template so that they cannot be edited in any quote created based on the template. Depending on the configuration, locks set by administrators cannot be removed by standard users.


Hides/Displays all selected items in the PDF.

All selected elements will be hidden in the PDF. This is represented with a red hatching in the background.

Selected elements that have already been hidden are released again for printing.  

Deletes all selected positions.

All selected elements will be permanently deleted.

Note: Unlike the Flex version, quote lightning does not have a bin from which you can restore deleted items.

Enables the assignment of product groups to the selected items

This menu item opens the toolbar for managing product groups at the quote item level. More details under "Product Groups".
