One advantage of appero quote is the intelligent placement of products in the quote document. The interaction of product groups and various Sum elements in the quote template ensures that each product is automatically inserted in the right place in the document.
Positioning by product groups
Use product groups to structure the content of your quote template.
Assign the same product groups to the items in your quote template as you do to the associated products. Here, for example, a section consisting of a heading, column heading, and subtotal:

As long as no products matching the groups are assigned to the items in the quote template, they remain hidden in the document.
A new product is now automatically added in the right place according to the product groups:

Interaction of sum elements and product groups
In addition to the product groups, the placement is also based on the type of sum elements. The combination of sum element and product groups is checked in the following order and the products are placed accordingly:

Column headers and group totals are not relevant for the arrangement of products, regardless of the assigned product groups.
Free positioning over the anchor
With the Anchor functionality you have the possibility to place products independently from product groups at any position in the offer document. Set the so-called Anchor at an existing Quote Line Item, and all subsequently added products will be automatically placed above it.
You can find the anchor at the editing options of each quote item:

Only one anchor per quote can be active at a time, i.e. activating a second anchor automatically deactivates the previously set one.
Individual sections
Anchors are great for defining individual sections of products in the quote.
Set the anchor at a summary item and add all the products you want to group specifically for that quote:

Possibly existing product groups also at the sum elements are ignored if the anchor is set.
An anchor is always valid at the runtime of the quoting process in the editor. Therefore, it does not make sense to set anchors in the quote template, because they will no longer exist when the template is used.
In the appero quote setup app, the anchor must first be enabled via the "Let users decide where to place new products via Anchors" setting (setup text addProductsViaAnchor) in the Interface section.
