Package scope and permission sets
After installing appero quote, you will have two different applications at your disposal, whose access is controlled by different permission sets:

We recommend the installation from version 20.100 at first only for administrators, in order to assign the different permission sets afterwards. If the update is installed immediately for all users, the object access rights are written directly to the user profiles and can then only be corrected again with great effort. |
Please check whether the permissions in the appero quote User permission set are sufficient for your company. If you need additional permissions for standard users, e.g. to edit product properties or discount rules, please clone the original permission set and adjust it as desired. This also has the advantage that your changes will be preserved for further updates.
Access to the appero quote Lightning Editor
Access to the new appero quote Lightning product version is gained by activating the new Lightning editor at the enterprise level and the custom permission sf42_quotefx.appero Quote Lightning. This custom permission is included in the third permission set appero quote Lightning User.

If you are migrating your Salesforce instance to appero quote Lightning step by step and only migrate individual users to the new version gradually, the procedure is as follows:
- Installation for admins
- Assign the permission set appero quote User to all standard users. Assign the appero quote Admin permission set to all admins.
- To those users who work with appero quote Lightning Editor, additionally assign the Permission Set appero quote Lightning User.

If the custom permission sf42_quotefx.appero Quote Lightning is active, access to the previous version of appero quote is only possible by switching to Salesforce Classic. |
Public groups
In addition to Permission Set and Custom Permission, permissions in appero quote are also controlled by public groups.

QuoteEdit | For all users who write and edit quotes - obsolete for appero quote Lightning. |
QuoteViewOnly | Salesforce users in this group can only read quotes, not edit or delete them - still valid for appero quote Lightning. |
